Query: Inevitable Death...
Kaivalya
Jnani:
Death is always viewed from two perspectives... one as a normal human
being and the other as wise sees it!
Every mortal fears death for the simple reason... all that he earns
working hard (throughout his life) cannot be carried to next life. All efforts going to waste... we rue the
day death will catch hold of one.
Inherently most human beings enjoy pursuing materialistic riches
throughout their life. When comes the time to depart... they try understanding the fundamentals of death. It
is too late by then! When young... one could have learnt the Wisdom of Bhagavad Gita and dispelled ones fears
for ever but they were always short of time. Now death has shortened their life span.
Wise having gained the pearls of wisdom reading the Bhagavad Gita realize
the underlying truth. They understand that the physical manifested life is an ephemeral phase in the cosmic
life cycle of soul atman within. Nothing is permanent in nature except a liberated soul.
Living the Nishakama karma away is the best way to defeat death in its
face. Every human being gaining enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and finally salvation (moksha) becomes
immortal. Immortality is not to be lived physically... it is a concept to be understood! The wise understand
it... the commoner longs for it!
For a wise death is like changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace. Our
soul atman within manifests body after another to remove the impurities within! In the physical manifested
world people cry over the death of the body... in the spiritual domain our soul atman is happy manifesting
the next phase of life.
