What after death... is there any continuity of the present manifestation or all is over after the death of the body. Truthfully speaking all ends with the death of the body in the present manifestation! Whatever is carried onto the next life is the balance of karma which is a property of our soul within.

We should always remember that it is our soul (aka atman in Hinduism) that has manifested the body and not vice versa. The journey of the body was limited to the present manifestation only. Whatever one has physically gained in the present manifestation... all would be left behind.

The residual balance of karma from the present manifestation after the death of the body gets transferred to the next manifestation through the process of karma. In the cosmic system the doctrine of karma plays a vital role. It is only karma through which the balance of the present manifestation could be transferred to the next life.

Whatever the balance of karma of the present life... accordingly shall be the next manifestation. If the balance of karma demands that one should be born in the house of a cobbler in the next manifestation then it is not possible for the sole atman within to manifest a form of life in the house of a King.

This process of reincarnation (aka rebirth in Hinduism) continues as a chain reaction. As per Hinduism sacred scriptures and the Bhagavad Gita... every soul requires a total of 8.4 million manifestations before it gets liberated from the cycle of birth and death. This requires a cosmic travel of 96.4 million earthly years.

The travel of soul as per Hinduism scriptures and Bhagavad Gita is a confirmed process. The existence of the soul atman within our body is the real essence of life. The prime reason why it is stated that the fruits of our karma belongs to the soul within!

Whatever karma is performed by the physical manifest form... all the fruits are proprietary of our soul atman residing within our heart. After the death of the body... whatever is the residual balance of karma... it shall become the opening balance of the next manifestation.
