Query: Free Will...
Kaivalya
Jnani:
Almost 99% people the world over do not travel the path of
spirituality... neither do they exercise the use of God-given free will. Why? It is believed that the walker
of spiritual path cannot simultaneously live the worldly
life.
One may have to leave the family... go to the deep forests (jungles) for
contemplation and so on. For some reason if one continues living in the family... it would be extremely
difficult for one to live an honest life... a life of absolute
truthfulness.
Following the spiritual path... the path of the free will means trying to
reach the kingdom of God! As ordained by God Almighty... every human being has been given 1.1 million
manifestations and an earthly life cycle of 12.1 million years to complete the journey. Whether we do it in
this life or the next is simply the prerogative of individual human being.
To keep off the sensual attractions... the materialistic reaches is
beyond the capacity of a normal human being. One thinks... indulgence in matters spiritual can always be
postponed. Everyone keeps following the path of religion... a ritual. We go to the temple, Church or mosques
to pray to God. Most people pray to God for fulfillment of their desires for materialistic reaches. None
desires traveling the spiritual path.
Walking the spiritual path... gaining enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and
reaching the stage of salvation (moksha) indicates reaching the level of Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus
Christ or Prophet Mohammed. Religions like Christianity and Islamic Dharma emphasize that no human being can
become a man god like Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed.
If we believe in this concept... how can we pursue the path followed by
these human gods? Mahavira categorically stated that every human being has the power within to become a
Mahavira. We only need to travel the spiritual path traveled by enlightened souls. Gautama Buddha also
emphasized that the ultimate goal of every human being is gaining nirvana.
Not within the capacity of normal human beings to control their desires, the senses and the mind... people keep
following the religious path.
