Yes, spirituality gives us the real meaning of life... a chance to know our real self... the truth of our soul atman residing within our heart. Spirituality is gaining access to the kingdom of God. Spirituality is knowing the crux of life! What life is all about! Who am I? From where I have come? Where do I have to go? What is my relationship with plants and animals and so on?

The essence of the spirituality is learnt best reading the Bhagavad Gita... the sacred doctrine given to the mankind by Lord Krishna in the battle of Mahabharata. Bhagavad Gita gives to the community everything that is worth knowable by a human being. The knower of Bhagavad Gita ultimately gains enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and finally salvation (moksha).

The path of spirituality by a human being is covered in 1.1 million manifestations... an earthly journey of 12.1 million years. Whether we travel the spiritual path and reach the end goal of life in the present life itself or leave it to destiny is the sole prerogative of every human being. The path of spirituality culminates in one becoming a Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ or prophet Mohammed.

Spirituality is knowing that it is our soul atman within that has manifested the body of a human being for the prime reason of removing the dross from within. The vice versa is not possible. No human body can ever manifest a soul atman. Realizing that it is our soul atman which is on its cosmic journey... the wise human beings try gaining enlightenment and salvation at the earliest.

Religion is merely a following of the enlightened masters. The teachings of the enlightened masters contained in the Scriptural texts are not wrong but the interpretation available to the masses most of the time is. Why? The religious teachers having vested interests interpret the Scriptural texts to their favor.

Promoting the cause of Heaven, and going to hell if one does not abide by the religion are some dictates of the so-called religious teachers. No human being is bound to follow the hollow dictates of the religious teachers... the wrong interpretations of the teachings!

One could not gain enlightenment if the teachings were flawed. The original teachings contained in Jaina doctrines, Buddhist scriptures, Bible and the Quran are absolutely flawless. The element of impurity in these scriptural texts is zero. It is for the mankind to judge right from wrong.

Heaven for instance is located in the centre of the sun where temperatures exceed millions of degrees centigrade. As advocated by the religious leaders... who would want to go to heaven in temperatures exceeding millions of degrees centigrade?

Is that possible? Heaven is truly a resting place for our soul atman until it gets matching parents on Mother Earth provided it has a positive balance of residual karma. A negative balance of karma earns a place in hell.

The teachings of religion at large have never been wrong. It is with passage of time... the religious leaders interpret the teachings in their favor... what more could one expect in the present Kali Yuga (the darkened age)!
