Query: Path of Spirituality... Travelling spiritual path was necessitated if we desired reaching God!

Only those who travel the path of spirituality can act in a truly selfless way! Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed... never had a selfish motive in life! They all traveled the path of pure spirituality... there aim being gaining enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and finally salvation (moksha) at the earliest! They were never after things ephemeral in nature. Those pursuing the path of wanton desires and materialistic riches always have a selfish motive!

Apart from material things in life... the welfare of the community in true earnestness also plays a significant role! When Madame Currie went in search of an unknown substance in pitchblende ore (later known as radium) she never had the inclination to milk the community dry by keeping a royalty on the fruits of her research! Her indulgence in discovery of radium is well-known. The bulldog determination... working day and night in pitiable circumstances was her forte.

Finally Madame Currie discovered radium. Her body had become so frail that it ultimately succumbed to radiation from radium. Madame Currie died for the cause of community. She had an absolutely unselfish goal in front of her. She spent her entire life searching for one metal. She could have put a royalty on her search but she refused. She wanted the benefits of her search passed to the community as such... totally unlike Bill Gates who in spite of his fat bank balance charges a mind-boggling royalty on his research!
