If we try to understand we would realize that every religion develops
after an enlightened soul. The teachings of Jesus Christ culminated into Christianity and those of Gautama
Buddha into Buddhism. Every religion primarily teaches us to follow the path of truthfulness, ethics and
morality. There is never a religion of hate. Every religion is a different path to the same
goal.
Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed... all are
man gods who gained enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and finally salvation (moksha) in their lifetime. Their
teachings primarily focus on practice of brotherhood and living a life of joy and happiness. Every religion
in essence teaches us to follow the dictates of God. That does not mean we start fearing God. No religion
imparts the knowledge of terrorism.
All religions are true provided the teachings of the enlightened master
have been correctly interpreted. In the present times... most religious masters twist the teachings of the
masters to their benefit. This leads to disharmony and dissatisfaction amongst the
masses.
Religion is only a means to an end. If we truly desire to search for God
in this life we need to follow the path of spirituality and not religion. Religious masters act as lampposts
in the journey of life. To take their assistance as and when necessary is our sole prerogative.
Hinduism religion is the oldest. Lord Krishna who gave the doctrine of
Bhagavad Gita in the battle of Mahabharata was the first Avatar (God manifest in human form) of the era. His
teachings in Bhagavad Gita are without a parallel. The knower of Bhagavad Gita becomes the knower of all. Why
not pursue Bhagavad Gita as our goal of life!
There is nothing in Bhagavad Gita that is not as pure as God Almighty
himself. The 700 shlokas (verses) in Bhagavad Gita are sufficient for any human being to cross the journey of
life. The knower of Bhagavad Gita finally gains enlightenment and salvation and reaches the kingdom of God
(aka Vaikunth in Hinduism).
Mahavira came about 1000 years after Lord Krishna. About 77 years later
followed Gautama Buddha. Another 423 years later followed Jesus Christ and finally followed Prophet
Mohammed.
