Query: Why a
Religion... Every religion was necessitated to live 70 to 80 years of earthly life in a meaningful
manner!
Kaivalya
Jnani:
As a human being we always live two lives. One prompted by our soul atman
living within our heart. This is the path of spirituality that prompts us to know more and more about God. It
is only traveling the path of spirituality one gains enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and salvation (moksha) in
the end.
The second path is lived by our physical manifest itself... the one
prompted by our ego. This is where religion comes into play. As we live life as a member of the community...
we need to follow certain rules framed by our religions masters. If all the family members go to a temple,
church or a mosque on a particular festive occasion... it becomes imperative for us to
follow!
Going to the Temple, Church or a mosque is a ritual. It leads us nowhere
except that we are recognized as a part of the community. Following ones religion does not compulsorily mean
that we pursue the path of God. Standing in the Temple, Church or mosque... we may still busy ourselves in
the routine affairs of life totally unmindful of what the community or the religious master
desires.
Religion empowers us to pray to God in times of need. It has often been
observed that most prayers go unheeded and unanswered by God Almighty. In the system of God nothing is
disordered at any stage. We ask and the Lord shall give... such is not the rule! We have to perform our
karma... we have to give something in return to God Almighty to enable him to fulfill our prayers.
Religion simply keeps the community bonded together in harmony. It is a
means to a goal collectively. On the contrary those who do not go to the Temple, church or a mosque ever also
survive. They also endure the infirmities of life. Religion is inherent part of life of every human being...
to follow or not to follow is the sole prerogative of every human being!
On the contrary the spiritual path leads a human being direct to the abode of God. When I was young my mother took
me to the Temple. As I reached 13 years of age I realized the folly of going to the Temple as a ritual. God
Almighty was every where. Why need go to the Temple Church or a mosque for prayers.
I followed the path of spirituality in search of God. At 37 years of age
God blessed me with his vision. I could know interact with God Almighty on one-to-one basis. I had finally
realized God. This is my last manifestation as a human being... the last in the cosmic life cycle of our soul
atman within.
The moment I leave my mortal frame... I (a purified soul atman) shall
directly go to the abode of God, the kingdom of God (aka Vaikunth in Hinduism)... a point of no
return!
Religion... to follow or not to follow is the sole prerogative of each individual. All depends on what goal we
choose in life.
