You are making the same mistake that most human beings made... equating yoga with yogic exercises! One can maintain rather improve upon ones health by indulgence in various forms of yogic exercises... not yoga!

Yoga is the path through which one finally reached the abode of God... the effort of the soul atman to merge with Parmatman... the effulgent atman... God Almighty himself! The dominant part of yoga is played through mind... the thought process and not the physical self!

Whenever indulging in spirituality... we need not read the essays literally... we need to dive deep into the bottomless pit of spirituality to unearth the pearls of wisdom contained in the Sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism... the foremost of all sacred scriptures available on Mother Earth.

The key to spirituality definitely is having absolute faith in God Almighty! In absence of absolute faith in God Almighty... nothing much can be achieved on the spiritual path! As a human being... we have no right to talk of the future or the past as both future and past belong to our soul atman and not the present human form!

I again repeat... it is not the human body but our soul atman that has manifested the human form to work out its karma... remove the dross impurities within! Every soul atman manifests a human form to reach the end of cosmic life... the 8.4 millionth manifestation when human beings gained enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and finally salvation (moksha)!

The human form is the highest manifest stage manifested by the soul atman within! It is only in the human form the soul atman gains release from the cycle of birth and death forever! Having regained its original pure pristine form... the liberated soul atman enters the abode of God... the kingdom of God (aka Vaikunth in Hinduism).

We need always remember... as a human being... in the present form... this is our first and last birth! Every single manifestation in the human form by the soul atman within... though intrinsically connected from manifestation to manifestation... body after body... still, no two manifested human forms have any external connection whatsoever.

Whatever we do in present life as human beings... is limited to present life itself! As the fruits of our karma... ... the fruits of karma performed by the human body always belonged to the soul atman within... everything related to the present human form is meant for one manifestation... the present life of 70 to 80 years!

Let us become intelligent... let us start living life as Americans live! They are born in the morning... they die in the night! Their crux of karma is... living for the day at its best! That is how life must be lived by human beings world over! Hinduism preaches spirituality at its best... yet, how many Indians live life for the day!

We simply cannot leave the affairs of present life pending for the next manifestation! We do not know what form of life our soul atman manifests in the next manifestation... why not travel the spiritual path now! The destiny of every human being is not governed by God Almighty... neither the destiny of every human being is fixed!

Every single individual human being on Mother Earth has the control of destiny... whether we exercise it or not totally depends upon the individual self! Taking control of one's destiny... most human beings scaled those brackets of success... that hitherto seemed unrealizable!

Every human being can shape ones destiny... leaving nothing to chance... not even God Almighty! The centuries old rituals carry no meaning in present life! As is our karma... so shall our destiny be! Keeping waiting for things to happen... waiting for the grace of God Almighty... is not a bright idea... we need to put in our efforts... our karma to make things happen!

From your answer, what I can gather is, that the key to evolution is complete faith in God. I suppose this is something that comes after many lifetimes of doing sadhana. I shall do my best to improve my belief systems.
