Sadhana
Siddhis Query:
Sadhana Siddhis... I have read the writings of Swami Sivananda of Rishikesh, and
have been very inspired to follow the path of self realization after that. I follow
the sadhana (to my ability) that he has prescribed in his books. It is an integrated
yoga practice, which he calls the "yoga of synthesis". In simple words,
his teachings are : Serve, Love, Meditate, Realize. When we talk about
siddhis, sometimes when good things happen to us, that actually reinforces our
faith in the Divine. We intensify our sadhana when we know that God is giving
us a protective hand. To that extent, siddhis can actually help in spiritual evolution.
I would like to know how to have excellent health.
Kaivalya Jnani:
God Almighty
is not the form of human beings. It is a cluster of primordial energy...
the combined power of all souls' atmans in the Cosmos at a given
moment of time! The whole Cosmos is preprogrammed like a supercomputer...
as we enact our karma... accordingly shall be our destiny!
On
the path of pure spirituality there is no place for rituals... siddhis etc. Siddhis
are commercial powers that can always be used for commercial gains! However, having
absolute faith in God Almighty enhances our spiritual journey. Almost hundred
percent people world over do not have absolute faith in God Almighty... they fail
gaining enlightenment in their lifetime!
Having absolute
faith in God Almighty is a necessity on the spiritual path. One
is not supposed to question the affairs of his (God Almighty). Even
in our sufferings we need worshiping God... seeking his grace! What
normally happens is... people remember God only in times of need...
only when we suffer. What when we experience happiness... do we
ever recall God?
God
Almighty is always present in every human being in minuscule form as our soul
atman. The voice of our soul atman that seems to come from within our heart always
guides us on the right path. Guided by the voice of my soul atman... I finally
realized God in present life! In 52 years of my life... I have yet to find a person
having absolute faith in God Almighty. The
path of spirituality... the uncharted spiritual path is to be traveled by human
beings all alone. With none to guide... it is our soul atman that becomes our
best guide in the journey of life. The spiritual path is best followed by assimilating
the Wisdom contained in the Sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism. In
the last about 150 years (amongst 6500 million people existing on Mother Earth)
only two persons gained enlightenment... sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi
Ramana. Reading literature related to Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa or Maharishi
Ramana is of immense help. We must never run after gaining siddhis... rather indulge
more on assimilating the Wisdom contained in the Sacred Bhagavad Gita... the doctrine
give to mankind by Lord Krishna! To
proceed on the path of pure spirituality... we need an alert body and equally
alert mind! A bodily frail person would find it difficult to follow the uncharted
spiritual path. A robust body is a gift of God Almighty. If we do not have one...
it is in our interest that we go for a morning walk daily. A walk by nature is
very refreshing. Slowly
the walk must be speeded and we must start jogging. As time passes by... our body
would catch up and we would become stronger not only bodily but also in our resolves.
Indulgence in various forms of yogic exercises would definitely help. In present
times Baba Ramdev whose programs on TV is a regular feature... can help the best! Seek
guidance only from a trained teacher! Many have benefited from the programs of
Baba Ramdev... and so can you! The resistance... the stamina is best built slowly.
Never hurry in the matter... you might hurt yourself! Do not blindly follow any
program... any form of yogic exercises. Understand the art of yoga. By
yogic exercises you can make your body hale and hearty! By yoga... you can clear
all the limitations of the mind. The word yoga has stemmed from the root word
Yog which in Hindi means synthesizing... the process of joining the two! In mathematics
two Yog two means four. Ever
since the soul atman separated from the mighty soul... the Parmatman... God Almighty
himself... it is always trying to merge with the supreme soul. This process of
the soul trying to merge with God Almighty is termed yoga... meditation in English! On
the path of pure spirituality never try to learn anything literally. Unless you
are convinced logistically... never take things for granted! Life in the cosmic
domain can only be understood when we fathom the depth of wisdom contained in
the sacred scriptures of various religions of the world! I
was born in Jain religion... yet, for me Bhagavad Gita... the doctrine give to
mankind by Lord Krishna is the foremost of all scriptures... something without
parallel in mankind! The knower of Bhagavad Gita finally becomes the knower of
all... gains omniscience forever!

from your good self: When we talk about siddhis, sometimes when good things
happen to us, that actually reinforces our faith in the Divine. We intensify our
sadhana when we know that God is giving us a protective hand. To that extent,
siddhis can actually help in spiritual evolution. Please correct me if my understanding
is wrong. I would like to know how to have excellent health. I mean, there
is always the laws of nature which one has to follow. But if one is not endowed
with good health by birth, then is there any technique by which this can be rectified.
I want this more than anything else, because I'm afraid I do not enjoy a very
robust health myself. my general resistance is poor, and so is the stamina. |
