Query: Swami Vivekananda Osho Sri Aurobindo not enlightened... While reading your article I found that you have mentioned that Swami Vivekananda, Osho and Sri Aurobindo were not enlightened. How are you so sure about them?

Swami Vivekananda never realized God in his lifetime. He was never after self realization... termed enlightenment in English. For all practical purposes as per the Sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism... the doctrine given to mankind by Lord Krishna... self realization and enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) mean the same. And how is it that Swami Vivekananda never realized God in his lifetime?

For the simple reason that Swami Vivekananda was never after self realization! When his spiritual master... his Guru sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa asked Swami Vivekananda why he wanted to see God when his goal of life was never self realization... he only stated that he needed confirmation of the existence of God almighty.

His goal of life always and ever was serving the community to its best. No matter what, Swami Vivekananda did not diverge from the set absolute goal of his life... in spite of repeated sayings of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa. Swami Vivekananda in his writings has clearly accepted this fact of life. Swami Vivekananda never twisted facts... the prime reason why he was an extempore speaker... the best of his times!

Osho... nee Acharya Rajneesh wanted to realize self... gain enlightenment in his lifetime. In the later years of his life when he definitely would have gained enlightenment... he diverted from the path of absolute spirituality. He mixed sex with spirituality. Whatever his thinking... he started preaching that state of absolute Samadhi can be reached while indulging in sensual pleasures.

He was wrong... he was absolutely on the wrong path. Pure spirituality can only be practiced by following the path of absolute celibacy... never otherwise! Practicing absolute celibacy for a minimum period of 12 years in continuation is a must for awakening of the Kundalini... the coiled Serpentine energy lying dormant in the base of the spine.

Practice of celibacy for gaining enlightenment is an absolute must. There is no shortcut in this matter. Every single enlightened master practiced absolute celibacy for a minimum period of 12 years in continuation. Mahavira... the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism did that and so did Gautama Buddha. Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed also practiced absolute celibacy for a minimum period of 12 years for reaching the stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana).

Indulgence in sensual pleasures on the path of absolute spirituality is absolutely ruled out. The two can never be combined. The sensual pleasures are meant for the materialistic world. For traveling the uncharted path of spirituality... one needs preserving the monthly quota of cosmic energy provided to every man and woman month after month by the grace of God almighty.

Only by preserving this monthly quota of potent energy... the true elixir of life... one finally awakens the dormant Kundalini... awakening which the Shahastra Pushpa (the thousand petalled Lotus) existing in the brain behind the forehead opens fully. The moment this happens... one reaches the stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi... the stage of nothingness... the state of absolute contemplation... when one can have a dialogue with God almighty on one-to-one basis.

Acharya Rajneesh nee Osho almost reached the pinnacle of spirituality... but somehow he failed in the end. He committed the same mistake which Sage Vishwamitra committed unknowingly. On seeing the sight of a beautiful maiden taking bath in forlorn circumstances in the deep dense forests (jungles) he lost self. He had to repeat the practice of celibacy for another period of 12 years in continuation.

The path of spirituality... the path to enlightenment... the uncharted spiritual path is tough... but not impossible!

Sri Aurobindo in his books... in his writings has expressed with deep sincere regrets that he could not realize God in his lifetime even though that was the goal of his life. He was absolutely fair in his writings. He never ever distorted facts. If he did not gain enlightenment... if he did not reach the stage of self realization... he did not make a mockery of it... he was absolute about it in his writings.

The sages of the yester era... the spiritual masters like Acharya Rajneesh (nee Osho)... Sri Aurobindo was absolutely clear about their goal of life. They were not like the religious masters of today... who even though not understanding even the meaning of self realization or enlightenment try imparting half baked teachings to the ignorant masses... to what gain!

My essays... my teachings... the message conveyed are absolutely clear! Those who have the intellect... the will to succeed on the spiritual path... get their message! Those indulging in rituals... the religious path continue doing so without much gain! The path of spirituality is absolutely different from the path of religion.
