Understanding
Islam Prophet Mohammed Query:
Understanding Islam Prophet Mohammed... It is true that a human being goes on
an incedible journey of transformation from birth to death. Sometimes all it can
take is a single event to trigger this transformation. However in the case of
Mohammed, I am not sure that this transformation occurred. It is a well known
fact that he used to meditate in the cave on Mount Hira when he supposedly started
getting messages from the angel Gabriel. It was here that he supposedly became
enlightened. I have even questioned my own Hindu beliefs at times, and this has
only served to increase my understanding of Islam and Prophet Muhammed.
Kaivalya Jnani:
Truly speaking...
no spiritual master or prophet propagates a path that spells doom
for the society. Having gained enlightenment... there is no harm
in spreading the word. The teachings of Prophet Mohammed have always
been wrongly interpreted... by the religious leaders of today! It
simply is not believable... it cannot be... that an enlightened
one teaches immoral things.
Whatever
is your source of information... however popular the document is... does not mean
it contains the right interpretation. Principally, Islamic religion is a fundamentalist
religion. In order to survive... in order to manifest themselves in the society...
the religious masters of today have totally interpreted the Sacred teachings to
their benefit.
If a robber
commits a robbery... is the robber at fault or his act! We would
at times observe the robbery was committed due to some hard pressed
necessity to which the robber did not have an access. In the circumstances
it is not the robber who is at fault... it is the whole society
that has blundered.
On
the path of spirituality... no human being and for that matter no living being
can ever be criticized for an act of one. One may be a simpleton... yet; one day
gets aggressive and kills thy neighbor. Finally we find out that it was the neighbor
who provoked the simpleton for such a ghastly deed. Human beings do have shortcomings.
What if we are unable to forgive one! Terrorism...
yes, is an act that perpetrates crime in the name of jihad (the holy war)... something
that begs no forgiveness. A crime... an act that results in perpetrating injury
to others is never to be forgiven. Enlightened masters never teach their disciples
to indulge in terrorism whatsoever.
During
the times of Prophet Mohammed many men died fighting war. The population of women
increased. There is a possibility that Prophet Mohammed adopted the young child
not as a child or by marrying her... but simply by taking care of her. Whatever
is written in the documents may be farce. If
I am not wrong... Prophet Mohammed never raised an army to spread religion in
his times. However, some of his followers might have! Being fundamentalist by
nature... the followers of Islamic Dharma sometimes misinterpreted the teachings
of their prophet to their benefit. Whatever suited them... became the law of the
land! Nowhere
Quran advises a person keeping four wives. Only in times of distress... when a
horde of men died in the war... Prophet Mohammed advised the remaining community
to take care of women folk... does not mean that people start marrying four times.
As times change... so do the rules. But fundamentalism is against changing of
the rules that carry no value today.

share of mistakes (violence, numerous wives, caravan raiding etc.) but he changed
his life once he became god-realised.
Please do not think that I am being
nasty because I am anti-Islamic. I have a great interest in all religions of the
world. I have been born and raised as a Hindu and therefore I have been taught
to accept and respect all. But that does not mean that I should not question things.
It does not mean that I should accept everything as a fact. I have even questioned
my own Hindu beliefs at times, and this has only served to increase my understanding.
Therefore I am hoping the same thing can happen here, whereby I will gain a greater
and more accurate understanding of Islam. |
