Realize Self God practice meditation attain Self Realization

Query: Realize Self God... I read your article 'How to attain Self Realization'. But I did not find any method to practice meditation. What is the easiest method to realize the Self and God?

If I say, God Almighty ordained a journey of 1.1 million manifestations (an earthly journey of 12.4 million years) for human beings to reach the stage of self realization termed enlightenment in English... what would your reaction be!

The cosmic truth is... What has been stated above is correct! In the vast maze of cosmic life... the entire life span of a soul atman... out of a total of 8.4 million manifestations... 1.1 million manifestations are spent in the human form.

The soul atman... our true inner self... the real self of us embarks on a journey of self purification... initially manifesting the form of an amoeba (single cell formation)... the first manifestation in the cosmic life cycle. Subsequently it evolves into multi-cell formation... then insect life... plant life and then the animal form!

From insect life... until the stage of animal form... every soul atman has already passed through a chain of 7.3 million manifestations. It is only in the human form... the soul atman within regains its original pure pristine form. Only in the human form... the soul atman within liberates itself forever from the cycle of birth and death!

The manifestation in the human form is the most pleasant experience for the soul atman within. Only when human beings reach the stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana)... the soul atman... having reached the 8.4 millionth manifestation finally gets liberated forever from the chain of manifestations... the earthly life cycle!

Reaching the stage of enlightenment is a process... the uncharted spiritual path needs traveling by individual human beings all alone. It is not simply meditating... One reaches the stage of self realization! There are numerous factors... hidden and un-hidden that needs unveiling and overcoming step-by-step.

The path of self realization can never be understood literally. The wisdom contained in the Sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism is sufficient for mankind to reach the stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and finally salvation (moksha). But how many people fathom the depth of wisdom contained in the Sacred Bhagavad Gita.

The wisdom contained in the Sacred Bhagavad Gita is available for a mere Rs 20/= ($.40) at most railway stations in India. Yet... the whole mankind seems to wait for someone to come and impart the wisdom of the Sacred Bhagavad Gita.

It is not the teacher... but the student whose capability is questionable! The path to self realization is difficult yet achievable! Mahavira... the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism did it... and so did Gautama Buddha. Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed both traveled the same path. Gaining enlightenment simply means reaching the stage of Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ or Prophet Mohammed!

Self realization is not something that can be imparted across the table as is being advertised by many religious masters of the present. None traveling the religious path can gain enlightenment! For gaining enlightenment... traveling the uncharted path of spirituality is a must!

Both religion and spirituality have different connotations. The path of spirituality requires one establishing absolute control over five senses and the mind. Practicing celibacy for a minimum of 12 years in continuation is an essential must. The practice of celibacy does not mean abstaining from sexual relationships... absolute celibacy is best practiced when thoughts of sensual nature stop entering the mind altogether.

Cleansing of the thought process... is what pure celibacy is all about! Most human beings on Mother Earth relate celibacy with sexual indulgences. In the field of spirituality... it is not the literal meaning but reading in between the lines that paves way for assimilating the wisdom contained in the Sacred Scriptures.

One may follow any path... any religion... the essence of all sacred teachings remain the same. Gaining self realization enlightenment by human beings is the end goal of every soul atman. Whether we do it in this life or leave it for the future manifestations depends on us... who knows what we shall be in the next manifestation... why not travel the spiritual path now!

Meditation is best practiced the Shavasana way of yoga. Practicing Neti (not this, not this) as preached and advocated by Maharishi Ramana... is a sure shot method for realizing God in one's lifetime.

What if the whole mankind appears to cheat everyone else! Can such people ever be expected to cross the ocean of Samsara (worldly life) and gain enlightenment?
