When general anaesthesia is given to the body during an operation... medically the body goes to subconscious sleep. Before and after the general anaesthesia was administered... our soul atman was absolutely unconcerned with the affairs of the body. On its cosmic journeys our soul atman within simply manifests a body to work out its karma and remove the dross within. The soul atman within never was concerned... nor will ever be concerned with the activities of the body.

Whatever happens in the mortal world is absolutely the prerogative of a human being dominated by ones ego. Our soul atman within has always been a Dhrista (onlooker) and shall always be! Only when things tend to go wrong drastically... it prompts from within the heart through the medium of dreams and the sweet small inner voice that we sometimes hear!

Only those who travel the path of absolute truthfulness can hear the sweet small voice of our soul atman within. Every serious seeker of spirituality always gets guided by the sweet small inner voice. It is only then one reaches the stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and salvation (moksha).

The physical manifested life is always governed by our ego and never our soul atman within. About 99% people amongst the world community never hears the sweet small voice of our soul atman within for the simple reason that they keep engrossed in the trivialities of life... accumulating materialistic riches and fulfilling their wanton desires!

Unmindful of the actions of the body... whatever the residual balance of karma is after the death of the mortal body... the soul atman within manifests a new life... a new body! In the cosmic game of life... our soul atman is not the chooser. All is governed by the doctrine of karma. As we (the living form) perform so shall we get... nothing less or more!
