Self Realized Souls

Your assumptions are well founded. Self realized souls are not found on the streets. You simply cannot expect to find a self realized soul to help you. Spiritual masters who have gained enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) need not search for a shishya (a serious seeker of spirituality). Do you expect meeting one of the statuses of Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ, Prophet Mohammed, Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa or Maharishi Ramana looking for you?

Self realization and enlightenment mean the same. Let us try to understand the meaning of two. A self realized soul is one... a human being who has realized his true inner self... become one with the real inner self... our soul atman within! Does it mean the soul atman within having gained absolute purity regains its prime pristine original form? Yes... the truth is so!

Reaching the source of life... realizing our true inner self is the goal of every human being! The moment one realizes the true inner self... it is the end of the cosmic journey for the soul atman within! The soul atman has reached the 8.4 millionth manifestation... the last in the cosmic life cycle! Nowhere else to go further this liberated soul atman after reaching the stage of moksha salvation enters the kingdom of God (aka Vaikunth in Hinduism).

Jina in Jainism... the genie in a bottle is none other than our liberated soul atman! One who gains enlightenment finally commands the genie within! Only a self realized master can command influence over our true inner self... the soul atman within! A self realized master not only manifests destiny... but the whole cosmic system... becomes one with God Almighty!

Self realization is not a whimsical word! Self realization is not something literal! The realization of our true inner self means traveling the spiritual path and reaching the source of life! Self realization means one reaches the stage of Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ or Prophet Mohammed!

The essence of life is in covering the journey... reaching the end goal of life! If Mahavira took the Indian bullet train (Rajdhani express)... Gautama Buddha mail train... Jesus Christ passenger train... and Prophet Mohammed any other mode of transport! All these enlightened masters in their lifetime reached the end of the journey... the mode of journey remaining immaterial!

Enlightenment means opening of the Shahastra Pushpa (the thousand petalled Lotus) existing within our brain and behind the forehead. The moment Kundalini awakens fully... one reaches the stage of enlightenment... the stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi! Opening of the Shahastra Pushpa within the brain announces usage of brain hundred percent!

Most human beings in life never use their brain more than 1%. It was only Albert Einstein... the famous physicist who used his brain 4%. Every enlightened or a self realized master uses ones brain hundred percent. The moment that happens... one becomes receptive to the total wisdom available in the Cosmos!

Having realized God... having gained enlightenment... the complete wisdom contained in the Sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism becomes like ABCD. All sacred scriptures like the Jaina doctrines, the Buddhist scriptures, the Sacred Bible and Quran... become like ABCD! One need not read anything literally... the complete wisdom comes from above.

For reaching the stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi... the stage of nothingness... full awakening of the Kundalini is a must. For full awakening of the Kundalini... establishing absolute control over the five senses and the mind is the first necessity. Thereafter one needs practicing absolute celibacy for a minimum period of 12 years in continuation. Only then one realizes self... never otherwise!

Do not underestimate the power of self realization or enlightenment! It is not that easily gained. God Almighty ordained a journey of 12.4 million earthly years... a total of 1.1 million manifestations in human beings to reach the stage of enlightenment. Does it mean... every human being has a total of 1.1 million manifestations... life forms to reach the stage of enlightenment... yes, the truth is so!

Rightly said... in the present Kali Yuga one cannot expect to find self realized masters quite often. In the last about 150 years amongst 6500 million people existing on Mother Earth only two persons gained enlightenment... sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana! One who follows the path undertaken by Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa or Maharishi Ramana finally realizes God!

In your case... first of all you need to establish a goal of life! Once established the journey is half complete! Most human beings never carry a goal in life... their life is like a rudderless boat going round and round in the ocean! After having formed the goal pursue it with the bulldog determination of Winston Churchill with all eggs in one basket.

Do not wait for a self realized master to help you. If it is within your competence to go after one... all depends upon your will power exercised! In his lifetime Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa had only one serious disciple... the world famed Swami Vivekananda! The bulldog determination of Swami Vivekananda is necessitated to pursue the path of self realization.

In his lifetime Swami Vivekananda did not realize God. He was never after gaining self realization! When Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa asked Swami Vivekananda what he was really after... he bluntly stated, "He was always after the welfare of the community and never self realization". He came to Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa only to have a glimpse of God Almighty!

In present times... most followers of Vivekananda think and presume that Swami Vivekananda gained self realization in his lifetime. Not prone to reason... such people even do not follow the dictates of their master... the revered Swami Vivekananda! Not once but many times Swami Vivekananda made it explicitly clear that the goal of his life was never self realization! The question is... who wants to indulge in reading the voluminous texts... the teachings of Swami Vivekananda!

In my personal case ever since 11 years of age, I had inkling to go after God Almighty come whatever may! Another two years... my desire changed to firm conviction! Come whatever may in this lifetime I shall not only see and meet God... I shall interact with him on one-to-one basis! Another 25 years to go... I finally realized God at 37 years of age!

How many times I had to eat hell for breakfast... how many contemplations of suicide... I was always alone in the spiritual pursuit! The uncharted path of spirituality is always traveled alone. As many human beings... as many paths to God can there be! The many hooded Cobra facing bare in the eyes... the process of Kundalini awakening was really frightening.

Even at 17 years of age... I often shifted my bed to my mothers' room. I simply could not live in the open separately. Never knowing from where the many hooded Cobra might spring up again in subconscious state. But the experiences while awakening of Kundalini are beyond expression something that can never be explained in words.

The moment I reached the stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi... it was all over for my soul atman within! Having regained its prime pure pristine form... having reached the Mount Everest of spiritual pursuit... the 8.4 millionth manifestation... my liberated soul atman would attain moksha salvation in this very life.

Having reached the end of cosmic journey... nothing left to learn further... I am but imparting the precious pearls of wisdom to the world community through the medium of Internet. I have taken the path traveled by Mahavira... the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism! Mahavira gained enlightenment at 42 years of age... for another 30 years he preached before leaving his mortal frame!

Full text of query: I've heard of self realized souls living in the past but I never thought that there could be one these days. I have been on this quest of spirituality. I have been meditating & have been initiated into Kriya Yoga as well and have been practicing it (hopefully faithfully within my limits & circumstances).

Maybe, you could thow some more light on my life. I need to know about myself. Theory doesn't satisfy me anymore & well I haven't met anyone who could be really self-realized enough to help me.
